The 14th century was a period of rapid and fascinating armour development. We can see various designs, patterns and construction solutions in that transitional period on the way to create a full plate armour. Here you can see a kit dated for 1370-1380 which captured part of that transition. It's mainly based on the Guiron le Courtois manuscript of northern Italian provenance. You can see here some plate pieces with composite ones consist of hardened leather and steel splits. The set consists of the following elements: composite vambraces with hourglass gauntlets, globe shaped breastplate with vertical ridge and composite leg harness.
